I was wondering why people still go to Twin River casino in RI when the machines hardly pay out anymore? The website mentions rewards of 1000 points(pennies). Yes, I said pennies. I did quit, too expensive. Machines pay out 70 percent and the greedy state get 61 percent of the 29 percent of the remaining profit. Why don’t people quit or go to Connecticut?

you are right – gambling is hard enough – its up to the player to be smart and intelligent and seek games that are not beatable but at least give you more of a chance to get time for your money so MAYBE you can get on a lucky streak and have the chance to leave with a profit!
The other reason is Convenience – people in RI MA area think everything is FAR!!!!! if they can be at twin river in 15 minutes you think they are gonna drive 45 to 50 minutes to foxwoods to play a slot machine????????
they are not that smart to understand the math behind how much quicker they lose their money at Twin River compared to going to Foxwoods

actually, you are not correct. the penny slots at twin river pay out at 89%. gambling is just that…taking a gamble. no matter where you gamble, you win some and you lose some…that is the point of it.

If you go to Connecticut, MAYBE the machines will pay out a little better, but you STILL are going to lose money. The same question right back to you: WHY would you go to a casino in Connecticut??? You KNOW you’re going to lose more than you’re going to win, right??? You go because you enjoy it. (Either that or you go because you might be deluded in thinking you can BEAT these machines. You can’t.)
