I collect casino decks (I have over 40 from Vegas alone!!!) and casino cards can be used for poker so there really is no difference other than the poker cards can contain jokers.

When you play poker in a casino, you will actually use “Bridge” sized cards. They are a little narrower than the cards you’re probably used to.

They are usually made of plastic, rather than paper. Since players touch the cards in poker, the cards need to be very durable.

They also need to be made of a material that won’t bend, so dishonest players won’t be tempted to “leave a mark” on some of them.
