Some Poker Tips on How to Make Money

Essentially throw your ego to the bin before you start to play poker, especially if you are focused to make money with poker. The game is more like a survivor series where the pro picks control over the weak. It is not true for the strong starting hand to win always. Most of the time a well-played decent hand splits the pot! Reading through poker tips can give chips of ideas that can be combined together to solve the poker puzzle that you are facing with.

Lot of poker tips necessitate the need for multiple strategies to be planned for the same hand. This is quite necessary to avoid stupid results due to pre-conditioning of the mind.

It so goes that when I get a K-9, I have formulated approach 1, approach 2, approach 3. I have 3 choices and I have firmly pre-conditioned my mind to play with the available 3 methods. Pre-conditioning of the mind is of course needed, but sometimes even 10 varied ideas may not work out and unless you arrive at the 11th new strategy at the table you might not win! So, preconditioning of the mind helps, but there are times when that may not work. You got to be flexible!

Luck has made craps win! Though luck does not make happen always, it has happened many times that the person who had been applying poker tips and tricks losing letting the other person win with a lucky hand! Such winnings can also be called as beginner surprises, where the player had been calling and calling every bet around without knowing what is in his hand and what is in the board. People around keep thinking he has got a great hand and eventually he wins with his craps! But all the time he never knew he was heading to win with a weak hand! He was playing just because he invested in the pot, luckily the idiot wins! It never happens always and such can show up as a bad beat to a better player at the table.

The touch down of all poker tips is to eventually guide one to hit the pot, but sadly only one or two players at the table can make the pot, the rest are going to be losers. Knowing poker tips and tricks does not make any winning, but applying the rules in the right place can let you win. We can take a horse to water, but we cannot make it drink! The horse has to drink!

Start Playing Texas Hold’em

The “button” is used to indicate the dealer position, after each hand it moves one place to the left. Before any cards are dealt, the first player to the left of the dealer posts the “small blind”. The player to his left posts the “big blind.”

In a $2/$4 Texas Hold’em game, the “small blind” is $1, and the “big blind” is $2. Blind bets are live, real money bets, and when the betting comes round to them, they have the option of folding, checking, calling or raising.

Beginning with the small blind, each player receives two cards face down, one at a time, in a clockwise direction.

The player to the left of the “big blind” is first to act, he must either fold, bet the minimum bet, raise or check. The next player must either fold, call the current bet, raise, or check (if no bets have been made). This continues all round the table until all players have bet the same amount of money.

There can be 1 bet and 3 raises maximum in each round of Texas Hold’em betting.

The Flop:

After all bets are equal, 3 cards are simultaneously turned face up in the centre of the table; this is called the “flop”. There now follows a round of betting, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

The Turn:

After betting is equal, the fourth communal card, the “turn”, is turned face up in the centre of the table. This is followed by a round of betting.

The River:

After betting is complete, the fifth and final communal card, the “river”, is turned face up in the centre of the table, alongside the previous four.

A final round of betting now follows. Once betting is finished the players show their best five card hand made from the 2 hole cards and the 5 communal cards. The first person to show their cards is the last person to bet or raise. The best hand wins the pot.

In limit Texas Hold’em poker, the lower limit is used for the first 2 rounds and the higher limit for the second 2 rounds

Five Easy to Follow Texas Holdem Poker Tips to Improve Your Game

How would you like five easy to follow tips that will immediately improve your poker game? Yes, that’s right, these five easy to learn tips will have you winning more hands more often. Just read on…

Poker Tip #1

Maximize your winnings and minimize your losses. Simply put, bet on the hands that you have a good chance of winning and fold the bad hands. In Limit play you must play solid hands. If you are being dealt bad hands throw them away. Limit Hold em is primarily a showdown game and very rarely can you bluff anyone out of a pot.

While many of us have watched Texas Hold em Poker on TV and have seen players bluffed out of pots we understand that this effective strategy in no-limit Texas Hold em rarely works in limit because you are limited to a maximum bet. This makes bluffing and picking-up small pots more difficult in limit Texas Hold em Poker.

Again, stick to playing the best hands.

Poker Tip #2

Knowing when to play and when to quit is an important consideration for a poker player. Play as long as the game is good and you feel good. If you’re winning and the players you’re playing with are inferior and have plenty of chips to give, as long as you feel good, keep playing.

If you’re tired and the inferior players have left and been replaced by good players then you may want to think about quitting. If you find that your patience and discipline are lacking, then you should also consider quitting. Remember, you will not always win. Everyone suffers bad beats.

Poker Tip #3

What makes some hands better than others? Obviously pocket pairs, especially high ones are powerful opening hands. Pocket pairs can win without any additional help from the board. If you’re pocket pair connects with the board you can turn a set and even a full house.

Higher cards are better than lower cards as they make bigger pairs with bigger kickers. Suited hands have a better chance of making a flush and suited connectors (or near connectors) are more likely to make straights, flushes and on occasion straight flushes.

Hands that incorporate both hole cards are usually stronger than hands that use only one.

If you like to play suited cards and suited connectors I recommend that you now how to calculate pot odds and know how many outs you have.

Poker Tip #4

The decisions you make on the flop are the most important. After that there are fewer details.

Taking into account and using everything you read and study will help you solve the problems you’ll face in limit hold em. However, there is no substitute for experience. Only by playing will you gain that experience, confidence, self-discipline and control to make you an expert player.

Try not to be too predictable. Don’t play the same hands the same way all the time. By swaying from your normal style of play – occasionally – you’ll keep your opponents off balance.

The table can be broken up into the following sections:

Player one = the Blind

Players 2 to 4 = early position

Players 5 to 7 = middle position

Players 8 to 10 = late position

So what are good hands before the flop when you’re in early position? – You want a hand that’s strong enough to stand a raise (pair of aces, kings, queens etc..) if you have one of the three highest pairs I would recommend raising. Of course if your hand is poor you should fold. Do not be afraid to fold. Remember that patience is very important in limit hold em.

Raising with a strong pair does two very important things for you. It gets more money in the pot and more importantly, it thins out the field. Strong pairs decrease in strength according to the number of hands out there. Your best and really only form of protection is to raise.

Poker Tip #5

Most important of all, if you want to improve your poker game, you have to practice and play. Studying what the best hands are is great. So is reading about strategy but you eventually need to apply that knowledge. The only way you will really ever improve is to play.

So there you have it, five easy to follow, easy to do tips to help you win more hands more often.

Five Card Draw Poker Tips and Winning Strategies

Winning is possible if you are careful to notice and analyze what cards your opponents have. Your winning strategy is totally dependent upon the accuracy of your judgment and assessment of the other players’ strengths and weaknesses.

Check your cards against the opening bet ? if the bet is high and your cards do not have even one pair, the probability is very high that one of the players would have a high pair ? more so when there are more than three players at the game table. This also means strength and you should realize in this case that your chances to win would be low and hence, the best strategy would be to fold. It is always important to know when you should fold and to have the strength to do so at the right time.

Keep the bettors in ? when you have got a good hand such as a high three, do not be tempted to bet high (even if you could) as this would chase away the players with weak hands. The best would be to just place a bet and allow the pot raise. In this manner you would also get a chance to know if any other player feels he/she has a good hand judging from the way they bet.

When you are dealt a high hand ? these cards are very strong but they still could be beaten by a higher ranking. In this case you should bet very high so as to scare away any potential contenders to the pot. Often this tactic scares away better hands and gives you a better chance to win.

Make full use of your drawing opportunity ? in the Five Card Draw Poker you are allowed to draw a number of cards if you find that your cards are not too great. Make the best of this ? check whether you have any air and keep those; draw your cards over it as the probability of improving your hand when you already have a pair is much higher than otherwise.

Assess your players during the draw ? it would not be easy at first, but with some experience you would be able to judge pretty accurately the strengths of your opponents by the number of cards they draw. The probabilities are that they would be holding a pair if they go for three cards; if the they draw only two they might be having three of a kind; if they take only one card they might be having two pairs or making a flush and when the player does not draw any card it can mean two things ? 1) they are holding a great hand or 2) they are bluffing.
