Star Trek – Data Rolls
This is probably one of my favorite scenes from STTNG. Its from the episode “The Royale”.

How can a roll of 2 with a point already established lose a Pass Line?
SpeargunHDTV on Jun 22, 2011 Said:
Riker understated when he said that a 6 as no more likely than a 7. A 7 is 20% more likely than a 6, and Data didn’t even correct him. Also, doubling up on the Pass Line ad infinitum would not be practical even if allowed. A quicker strategy would have been to bet the maximum on the 2 or the 12 next-roll bets or (to be more polite) the 11 next-roll bet, although that would not accumulate wealth nearly as fast.

@rad4life1 I believe the excuse is that he is merely mimicking how other people do it.

Am I the only one who’s thinking about Puck and Xanatos when I watch this? XD
Gordontrek on Jun 22, 2011 Said:
@alacran1992 Remember, Data is programmed to imitate humans. Also, I’m sure he is programmed to show that he is content. As he sometimes displays too, he can mimic emotion perfectly though he doesn’t feel it. For example this video and the episode “In Theory.”

I LOVE DATA!!!!!!!!!
nazaxprime on Jun 22, 2011 Said:
@deltaray3 By weight alone. My guess though is he wanted to experience the mis-calibrated cubes response to his randomly throwing them to see if it was in someway more relevant to the game and the randomness required to properly enjoy gambling. He is after all, Starfleet, for whom money boarders on meaninglessness. After that though, I think he gets into, “I’m a badass” mode.
All I got to say about the rest though is this:
Careful Data… the house ALWAYS wins.

“There are creatures in the universe…who would consider you the ultimate achievement, android.” Q to Data
MaximusRelaximus on Jun 22, 2011 Said:
@Nodrog666 “Swaggerly.” I like that.
MaximusRelaximus on Jun 22, 2011 Said:
@SSPerfectChaos He’s not a god, he’s an android. He’s also not innately suspicious, that’s a human trait. So he’s not going to even think about something like that, which is only barely perceptible even to him immediately. Now, if that’s not geeky enough, I give up.
sondano on Jun 22, 2011 Said:
1:24 hm yeah that’s wasn’t a sexist moment at all. A male wrote this episode and a male directed it

I think Data is lying throughout the entire show about the whole emotion thing. He smiles all the freaking time.
