Is it ethically questionable to work for a Casino Company?
Is it ethically questionable to work for a Casino Company? I wouldn’t be working on the floor or anything, It would be an administrative role for the broader company… thoughts?

I suppose it depends on your ethical makeup.
Do you believe that gambling is wrong? If so, then I would assume you’d have a problem working for them. If not, then I don’t see any issue. For the most part, the employees there will be ethical people (they don’t hire criminals and such).
For what it’s worth, I personally enjoy gambling every now and then, and appreciate that the casinos provide a good entertainment value for me.

If you have some sort of moral aversion to gambling, then being associated with the company is unethical (and hypocritical). However, I don’t think that gambling is unethical, so my answer is no.

I don’t think there is anything questionable about it. If it does not bother you, that is all that matters. Gambling is just like any other vice— some people go overboard, but you are not forcing anyone to do anything they don’t want to. You are simply working for a company that provides a service. It is up to the general public to decide if they want to spend money on that service.

There’s nothing wrong with it as far as I’m concerned no matter where you work. People are going to do what they want to do. If someone wants to gamble all their money away, they will. Whether it’s at your casino, someone else’s at a track, on a street corner- whereever. At least at your casino, they’re doing it legally without the possibility of losing their life for cheating or some crazy sh!t like that.

Sure it’s not like being a doctor where you get tons of respect, but there’s nothing wrong with a Casino job. People are free to come and waste their money on slot machines or at the tables.

It’s a job. If you want to do that then go ahead. Gambling isn’t a crime but if you’re not comfortable with working there don’t. I don’t see anything wrong with it. Hay if the pay is good and the position is nice then why not. You can always find something else to do in the future.
But a casino is a private corporation- a business. Don’t worry about it. Good Luck

If you think Casinos are unethical you should not work for them in any capacity. It does not matter if you are a blackjack dealer or maid, otherwise your ethics are only applied at your convenience? It is like being the bookkeeper in hell or the condom vendor at a brothel.

Short and sweet, it’s perfectly fine. But it sounds like you have issues with it, so you may want to recondiser the position. I used to work in AC, not directly with the casinos, but I would sometimes have to partner with them. To be honest, it’s just a form of business.

no it is a job, a job is just a job, it is the players fault for gambling there money away, you are not to blame in any way

If you believe that gaming and the promotion of gaming is a sin, then yes, I would believe it to be ethically questionable to work for a Casino Company, even in an administrative role, because even as an administrator, you are still supporting the company ideals.
Now, given the choice of working an ethically questionable job, or not having a job at all, in order to put food on the table, then by all means, take the job.

What is the ethical question? Is it against your morals to gamble? Is the operation against your ethics?
As you look in or walk around a casino you can see lots of people doing business with a company. As you walk in or look around walmart you can see lots of people doing business with a company. One sells goods the other sells entertainment. If you only knew the laws behind the gambling industry you would see what kind of business it is.
I WOULD NOT WORK AT WALMART BECAUSE OF ITS BUSINESS POLICIES!!! And I don’t shop there.

no. there’s nothing wrong with that in my opinion
