Bat responds to cry for help when a friend’s small gambling house is threatened by rival casino owned by Big Keel Roberts. Roberts suggest that he and Bat play one hand of poker, with the winner gaining ownership of both casinos.

That’s an interesting bit of history, which I wonder if its true… the boy talking about his name being Bat because he can ‘bat someone down with his gun faster than…’ or was it the cane he was referring to? The movies Tombstone and Wyatt Earp specifically portrayed Earp pistol-whipping the majority of his foes, in this series they show Bat doing it. I am wondering if it was common practice, or if Bat or Earp were specifically known for that?
