Casino dealers such as poker dealers will obviously make more money in tips when dealing at higher limits, so?
Who of the dealers gets to deal at those tables? Is it just based on seniority? Or being friends with the manager? Or what?

I have been a casino dealer here in Las Vegas for 12 years now, so I have the experience to tell you that you are wrong. The best tips come from a middle of the road game, like a $5 – $10 no limit hold ‘em. A High limit game may push a $5,000 pot to the player, but you are NOT going to get one of those black chips. Plus, consider that in a high limit game there is much more thinking and fewer hands per hour. In the $5 – $10 game you will get $1, $2, $3, or even $5 more often, and that will add up much faster.
As for who gets which table, it is based on a rotation, seniority, ability and what you got the poker room manager for Christmas last year.
