@jeffkahl
I had no idea that Blue Rodeo was on David Letterman. My favourite band ever. While they were singing, I had protective feelings. Leave them alone, they are beautiful, is what I was thinking. I was 14 in 1991. I saw them play the Red River Ex.
Thank you for sharing this video, you are very king.

@booradleymtl might’ve been a union thing? maybe they could get all the paperwork done in enough time? I know Sloan. Would’ve been interesting to hear Anton and Will play on something like Underwhelmed or Coax Me with equal conviction as Chris or Andrew.
booradleymtl on Jan 28, 2011 Said:
@jeffkahl A buddy of mine’s cousin played in a band called Sloan. The story we heard at the time was Sloan was supposed to be on Letterman in the early 90s but turned it down when the producers insisted that Will, Sid and Anton sit in (probably bumping some other band members). Take with as much salt as your blood pressure will allow.. that was almost 20 years ago.

Man, it is amazing how his singing is live! I mean, it’s perfect! His perfect is perfect. It would be so easy to mistake this for the studio version if you heard it, and didn’t know it was live.

Bobby Wiseman… wow.

@Freethinker12341 the model of organ Bob is using has an interesting feature with the power switch where if you hold the key and turn it off it gives a “falling off” sound. i’ve actually seen Bobby do this live. it’s really a groovy effect!
Freethinker12341 on Jan 28, 2011 Said:
can somebody tell me how bob got that particular organ sound when he was in blue rodeo?? ….that sort of “crying” sound on the outskirts and diamond mine album mainly

JIM!!! how amazing are his vocals!?? this is all-around amazing.
why didn’t they make it in the US? Because the US are only into Canadian acts like Nickelback and Celine Dion (the crappy stuff).
